This limited release Cabernet from Monterey County, and made by the esteemed Robert Mondavi winery, is made of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 10 months with a portion aged in new and used American bourbon barrels, this opens with concentrated aromas of black cherries, blackberries, vanilla, mocha and toasty oak with notes of coffee and smoke. Intense flavors follow with blackberries, sweet vanilla, caramel an mocha. Ripe, soft tannins and toasted oak round out the wine, with a long, lush finish. Serve with bourbon-glazed ribs, pork or skirt steaks.
