The Santa Barbara County bottling is Angela’s answer to Rayas’ Fonsalette, intended to be drunk while the single-vineyard wines come of age. This iteration is a blend of four organically farmed vineyards, all fruit was destemmed, foot-trodden and raised in neutral oak for 11 months, and bottled under a new moon.

A great introduction to the Grace style - ruby red in color, with crushed berry and cedar on the nose, almost Pinot-esque. Light on its feet, medium-bodied with rainier cherry, blood orange, dried mint and baking spices, backed by refined tannin.

A Tribute To Grace Wine Company is dedicated to crafting authentic expressions of Grenache. All wines are single-vineyard sourced to maintain authenticity, and remain 100% Grenache.

Angela Osborne is a New Zealand born winemaker who moved to California in 2006 with the dream of making Grenache. In the land from which she stems, the climate is too cool to ripen this sun-loving beauty. And so began her search: northern Spain, southern France, southern Australia, California...

Abundant sunshine and entrepreneurial spirit led Angela to the latter, and in 2007 she sourced her first Grenache fruit from the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard. Nestled high above the Pacific Ocean and 33 miles inland, this high-desert vineyard provided the perfect balance of heat and light that was sought. Angela named her label after two of her favorite things: her Grandmother Grace and her most beloved attribute. Angela's winemaking intention is to capture this spirit, and stay as close to nature as humanly possible. The trio is completed by the grape itself, which to me encapsulates grace.

Country: USA

Region: Santa Barbara

Type: Red Wine

Grape: Grenache

A Tribute to Grace is named for winemaker Angela Osborne’s grandmother. Angela studied film in her native New Zealand and worked at a wine shop to pay the bills. While she enjoyed wine, it was not her passion. Angela was ready to pursue her film career when a winemaker friend found her a harvest job and insisted that she move to California to take it. Once there, she discovered Grenache and fell hard for the grape that would later become the singular focus of her winemaking. Her wines are ethereal and pure, allowing the land to shine through the layered flavors.

A Tribute to Grace wines are made from sustainably-farmed grapes with an eye towards Biodynamics. Angela’s low-intervention approach includes the use of neutral oak and only small sulfur additions at bottling for stability.

A fully de-stemmed blend of fruit from two organic vineyards, this wine underwent native yeast fermentation in tank before being moved to barrel for malolactic and 16-18 months of elevage in largely neutral oak barrels. Bright and fresh, it is a medium-bodied red wine with vibrant red berry fruit and a hint of spice.
