Rhone wine refers to the wines produced in the Rhône Valley, a prominent wine region in southeastern France. The Rhône Valley is known for its diverse range of wines, both red and white, and is divided into two distinct sub-regions: the Northern Rhône and the Southern Rhône. GSM Blends: In both the Northern and Southern Rhône, there is a significant focus on GSM blends, referring to blends of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. These blends showcase the best characteristics of each grape variety, resulting in well-balanced and expressive wines.

Aging Potential: Many Rhône wines, particularly those from the Northern Rhône and higher-quality Southern Rhône appellations, have excellent aging potential. Syrah-based wines from the Northern Rhône can develop additional complexity and finesse with age, while well-made Châteauneuf-du-Pape and other GSM blends from the Southern Rhône can age gracefully for many years.

Food Pairing: Rhône wines, both red and white, are incredibly food-friendly. The Northern Rhône Syrah pairs well with roasted meats, game, and hearty stews, while the Southern Rhône red blends are fantastic with grilled meats, Mediterranean cuisine, and hearty, flavorful dishes.
