A PASSION FOR EXTREME QUALITY
Expressing the unique characteristics of each vineyard. Wines of high intensity and structure, with excellent body, ripe and sweet tannins and lingering taste. We have six different wines: Malbec is from the best terroir in Finca La Encerrada, as well as the Pinot Noir that is made on one hectare of that estate.

The 3.5-hectare Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Sangiovese’s 2.2 hectares, come from vineyards planted in 1935; the Syrah was planted in 1956 on 2.5 hectares and the blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (1935), Cabernet Franc (1899) and Merlot (1956) are all from Finca Libertad.

Wines expressing the typicity of each terroir with a 12 month wood ageing in 2nd use French oak. Wines with elegance and proper acidity that secures a safe longevity and a long permanence on the palate.

Varietal Composition: Blend of 34%, Cabernet Sauvignon 33%, Cabernet Franc 33%, Merlot.

Grape Origin: Selection of the best parcels from our Finca Libertad, Mendoza Upper River Bank (850 meters above sea level; 2800 ft), Cruz de Piedra, Maipú, Mendoza. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were planted 88 years ago, our Cabernet Franc ere planted 128 years ago and Merlot grapes were planted 40 years ago by the Benegas Family.

Winemarking process: Prefermentative cold maceration. Fermentation in a tank at 25°C. Post fermentation maceration for two weeks. Racking and natural malolactic fermentation. All the varietals were produced separately finishing the malolactic fermentation in news French oak barrels.

Ageing: 12 months in new French oak barrels.

TASTING NOTES:

-Colour: Deep red vermilion with ruby nuances.

-Nose: The intensity of these three varietals in equal proportions gives as a result a very expressive wine. The black and red fruit with white pepper from the Cabernet Sauvignon and the toasted red pepper of the Cabernte Franc are mingled with the cherries of the Merlot and the herbal and fresh notes of all the components. The oak ageing grants vanillla, toast and smoky notes.

-Mouth: Poweful wine with juicy and ripe tannins. In the mid palate it exhibits layers where the aromas appear and join the wine giving it elegant and very expressive finish which is long and persistent.

Ageing capacity: 15 – 20 years

Drinking temperature: Serving temperature 17°/18° C

Made with the best grapes from our Finca Libertad and Cruz de Piedra Mapu in the Upper Mendoza River Bank. A very special microclimate where the soil used to be the river bed with plenty of stones. Because of traditional flood irrigation, the roots go very deep into the ground. Typical French blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (vine planted in 1935), Cabernet Franc (vine planted in 1899) and Merlot (vine planted in 1956). Powerful wine of impressive ripe and juicy tannins and a long finish. Red wine blend 34% Cabernet Sauvignon | 33% Cabernet Franc | and 33% Merlot
