Pale yellow-gold, with an orange hue, and silver highlights: quite an original appearance. The glass presents the aromas of a fresh fruit basket, punctuated by dusty muskmelon, and herbs. This demi-sec Vouvray follows through with a palate of melon, red apple skin, and minerals, with a hint of ripe strawberry, which is where the very subtle sweetness comes from. The finish is long, with complex fruit notes, and an echo of the apple skin reappearing, retaining some tartness. The extra elements that make this wine a demi-sec, also give it more body, deeper flavors, and also make it a better pairing with poultry and game bird dishes than a sec version would be.
