Notes of ripe apple and pear fruit are balanced by lively acidity, with a touch of cream on the nose. The wine exhibits a lovely texture, a result of lees aging in underground vats.

CloseThe estate borders Briacé’s viticultural school in which brothers and owners Patrice and Pierre-Yves Charpentier learned their craft. Pierre-Yves is in charge of the vinification, whereas Patrice runs the office (sales & administration) and both of them do work in the vines with the help of experienced employees.
In 1989 they took over the family business and now run 36ha of vines under sustainable agriculture practices. Tradition and modernity go together in this estate as state-of-the-art technology is used to make wines that are the reflection of their unique terroir, fresh, lively and fragrant.
Domaine de La Bretonnière is owned by the Charpentier’s family for 4 generations.
Today the vineyard is runned by the 2 brothers Pierre-Yves and Patrice Charpentier. Pierre-Yves is taking care of the vinification, Patrice works at the office (sales & administration) and both of them are doing viticulture work. They did their first vintage in 1989 (resuming their parents activity). The vinification happens in concrete buried tanks.
Chardonnay has been native to the Loire since the Middle Ages. The brothers Pierres Yves and Patrice Cormerais know how to use the special features of the terroir and the influence of the Atlantic to create a wine with its own style, full of elegance, freshness and fruitiness. Like all Chardonnay , it is soft with the aromas of green apples, citrus, pineapple and a little nut.
Lovers of pure, clean Chardonnay rejoice! The world’s most popular white grape gets a refreshing take from well-known Loire producers Domaine de la Bretonnière. Chardonnay is typically used as a blending grape in the Loire Valley, but shines as the star in this 100% varietal wine.
