At various competitions this wine's vintages have been awarded awards: the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition awarded the 2020 vintage Silver and the Sunset International Spirits Competition awarded Silver.

Critic tasting note: (2013 vintage) "An affordable wine that'll please a host of palates, this SB was fermented in stainless steel beforeof it spent two months aging in new French oak. The result is a florally aromatic wine with straightforward layers of pineapple and vanilla and juiciness on the finish.
