Walla Walla Vintners Merlot
This classic expression leads with juicy notes of red cherry and sun-ripened raspberry, while subtle hints of savory herbs add intrigue. We've woven in touches of Cabernet Sauvignon for mid-palate weight and Malbec for color and complexity. The result? A wine that's both generous and structured, with gently chalky tannins carrying the long, graceful finish.

Rooted in Walla Walla.
Delicious anywhere.

Responsible for some of Washington’s most highly acclaimed wines, the Walla Walla Valley has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years and is home to both historic wineries and younger, up-and-coming producers. The Walla Walla Valley, a Native American name meaning “many waters,” is located in southeastern Washington; part of the appellation actually extends into Oregon. Soils here are well-drained, sandy loess over Missoula Flood deposits and fractured basalt.

As one of the oldest family-owned wineries in Walla Walla, Walla Walla Vintners has had the privilege to set the example when it comes to wine quality and sustainability. Starting with meticulously farmed grapes, the wines are pristinely styled and elegantly poised to showcase the true craft of winemaking.

Looking for the wine that will make you fall in love with Merlot all over again? Our Walla Walla Valley Merlot reminds us why Washington earned its reputation for this noble variety. Crafted predominantly from our Cut Bank Estate vineyard, with supporting roles from the celebrated Seven Hills and Les Collines vineyards, this wine showcases the pure pleasure that Merlot delivers when treated with respect.

The 2021 vintage challenged Washington wine country with unprecedented extremes. When June's historic heat dome pushed temperatures beyond 110°F, our dedicated growers responded swiftly, protecting the precious fruit. Mother Nature rewarded their efforts with perfect ripening conditions through September and October, delivering wines of remarkable depth and character.

Paul Gregutt awarded it 93 points, celebrating how "berries, cherries and plums dance on the palate" – and we couldn't agree more. This is everything Washington Merlot strives to be: polished, expressive, and utterly delicious. One sip, and you'll remember why you fell for Merlot in the first place.
