"Lovely intensity on the nose, aromatic and expressive. Smooth and high-toned on the palate, bright with a classy shine to the black fruits. I really love the aromatics on the profile here, you get that perfume and gloss with depth and soft tannins. Easy-drinking second wine, easy to recommend." -Decanter
This new winery (pictured above) has been inspired by the legend surrounding Château Beychevelle and the first Duke of Epernon: the world of sails, tall ships, and more broadly of travelling the globe served as a guide for the architect Arnaud Boulain in his design.
Innovative both in terms of its facilities and its architecture, with cubic shapes and large windows, Château Beychevelle’s new winery will further enhance the quality of the meticulous work that has been carried out by the Château’s teams for many years.
Beychevelle has always been a home to the arts. A committed patron, the Duke of Epernon invited Molière and his troupe of actors to perform at the château.
Subsequent owners of Beychevelle continued to encourage artistic creation, embellishing the château’s architecture, and adding further paintings, furniture, sculptures, and features to the gardens.
Beychevelle gradually came to be known as the Versailles of Bordeaux, and the château developed a special relationship with the Baroque Music Centre in Versailles.
