Vineyards and terroir: The grapes come from Oakville, one of the Napa Valley's most celebrated Cabernet Sauvignon appellations in the heart of the valley floor, sourced through grower relationships built over two decades.
Family and history: BonAnno Vintners was founded in 2004 by Matt Bonanno, the third generation of his family to work in wine, with a first vintage of 1,100 cases of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon meant to introduce a new generation of drinkers to the category. The family-owned company now also makes Napa Valley and Alexander Valley Cabernets, a Los Carneros Chardonnay and the Matthew Fritz coastal California line, with winemaker Jim Milone, a fourth-generation North Coast winegrower. This Oakville Cabernet and a sister Stags Leap District bottling were released to celebrate BonAnno's 20th vintage. "Bon anno" means "good year" in Italian.
