Estate History: Giovanna Rizzolio was one of the few women running a winery in the Langhe in the early 90’s, a pioneer for women winemakers in the region. She is the only one to release a Tre Stelle cru Barbaresco. Her sons Riccardo and Davide divide the winemaking and vineyard duties now. Located in the Rio Sordo Valley, this classic estate is organic, and sits right in front of the Rio Sordo cru with panoramic views of the Langhe. The family also runs an excellent bed and breakfast.

As its name suggests, roses are indeed omnipresent on the farm and in the vineyards. The calcareous soils of the Tre Stelle vineyard renders a bold Barbaresco that will surely improve with age.

As the sole producer of a Tre Stelle cru Barbaresco, their meticulous approach in this distinctive vineyard, even in a demanding year, yields a wine of remarkable purity and authenticity.
