Vineyards and terroir: Gloria's vines grow on Günzian gravel over a clay and sand subsoil, in three zones across the Saint-Julien appellation. They average about 40 years old. The estate has since converted to organic farming, with 2024 its first certified-organic vintage.
Family: Henri Martin, born in 1903, began with a single plot in the late 1930s, named the estate Gloria in 1942 and built it up by buying parcels from neighbouring classified growths. He became president of the Bordeaux wine council (CIVB) in 1956 and administrator of Château Latour in 1963. His descendants, the Triaud family, run Domaines Henri Martin today.
