CloseA Merlot dominant and Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from the Médoc
Nestled in the village of Saint-Yzans-de-Médoc, near the Gironde Estuary in Bordeaux, Château Sigognac is one of the Médoc's historic wine estates, with roots stretching back more than 500 years. References to the noble house of Segougnac date to the 16th century, and by the 1700s, its wines were already being exported internationally, establishing an early reputation for quality.
Recognized as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, the estate has long benefited from the region's clay-limestone soils and the moderating influence of the nearby estuary. In 2009, the Allard family acquired the property and began revitalizing its vineyards and winemaking facilities, combining traditional Bordeaux craftsmanship with modern techniques. Today, Château Sigognac continues this remarkable legacy, producing elegant, fruit-driven Médoc wines while emphasizing sustainable vineyard practices and environmental stewardship.
