WINERY
After Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic Schramsberg property in Napa Valley, their son, Hugh Davies, initiated a red wine program using the family’s estate vineyards on Diamond Mountain. Starting in the 1990s, Hugh undertook the replanting of the home property to red Bordeaux varietals leading to the J. Davies Cabernet program; he later partnered with North Coast growers to launch Davies Vineyards Pinot Noirs.
WINE
The Davies family of Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards proudly presents the fourth Pinot Noir release from Keefer Ranch, acquired in 2019. Their Pinot Noir legacy began in 1967 with Schramsberg’s first Blanc de Noirs, and over the years they have built lasting partnerships with top North Coast growers. Crafted by second-generation vintner Hugh Davies and winemakers Sean Thompson, Jessica Koga, and J.P. Pierce, the 2023 Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir reflects the family’s deep-rooted passion and expertise.
VINEYARDS
The Keefer Ranch sits along Green Valley Creek in the Russian River Valley, on gently sloping, south facing Goldridge Loam soils. Well-drained and moderately vigorous, the site is ideal for concentrated Pinot Noir. A long, cool hang time delivers fruit with deep color, rich extraction, and balanced tannins.
