Pure and precise, with ripe red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, a floral lift and a hint of earthy spice. The palate balances bright fruit and fresh acidity with very fine, silky tannins and a clean, elegant finish.

Close100% Pinot Noir
Food pairings: Country charcuterie, oven-baked pork chops with onions, fricassée of mushrooms and roast poultry.
Winemaking: Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in barrel, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Vineyards and terroir: Roncevie is a lieu-dit in Gevrey-Chambertin, a stone's throw from the grand cru Griottes-Chambertin. Until 1964 it was classified as Gevrey-Chambertin village; half of it still is, while the other half was declassified to Bourgogne. The certified biodynamic vines are more than 60 years old and grow on clay-limestone soil.
Family and history: Domaine Arlaud began during World War II, when Joseph Arlaud, originally from the Ardèche, married Renée Amiot of a historic Burgundian family; parcels in the Côte de Nuits around Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin were part of their wedding gifts. Hervé Arlaud took over in 1982 and expanded the estate, and his son Cyprien converted the domaine to biodynamics (certified in 2014) and ploughs with horses; his sister Bertille is one of France's leading trainers of working vineyard horses. The cold cellar in Morey-Saint-Denis allows a slow, low-intervention vinification with minimal sulfur.
