“Les Fontanilles” is sourced from estate vineyards in the village of Cazelles, in the heart of the Minervois. The vineyards are planted on limestone, clay, and sandstone soils at higher elevations, where warm Mediterranean days are tempered by cooler nights, preserving freshness and aromatic complexity.
The blend is led by Syrah, complemented by Grenache and Carignan, showcasing the classic varieties of the region. The vineyards are farmed sustainably with meticulous attention to vine health and low yields. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with gentle extraction to preserve purity and elegance, and aged in a combination of concrete tanks and French oak barrels, allowing the fruit and terroir to remain at the forefront.
The 2023 vintage offers ripe black fruit, floral lift, and the wild herbal character that defines the Mediterranean landscape. While approachable in its youth, the wine has the structure to develop additional complexity over the next several years.
