100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Food pairings: Grilled ribeye and other beef, smoked brisket, venison, lamb, and roast poultry; also charcuterie and aged cheddar.

Winemaking: Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon was Juggernaut's very first wine. The intense hillside fruit is aged for 11 months in new French oak barrels, which transforms it into a dense, velvety wine with uncommon richness and a smooth, luxurious texture.

Vineyards and terroir: The grapes come entirely from hillside vineyards in California. On steep, rocky slopes the vines have less access to water and nutrients, so they struggle and yield fewer clusters of smaller berries. Since most of a grape's flavor lies in its skin, these small berries give fruit that is ripe, intensely concentrated and complex.

Family and history: Juggernaut is made by the Bogle family of Clarksburg, California, best known for Bogle Family Vineyards. Winemaker Eric Aafedt noticed how much color, aroma, intensity and tannin the Cabernet from hillside vineyards carried, and the team created Juggernaut to showcase it. The name, meaning an unstoppable force, suited the wine's style, and the turquoise-tipped lion on the label was chosen to represent it.
