Food pairings: Roast meats, game and a selection of mature cheeses.
Winemaking: The importer describes Pinot Noir fermented in open vats for up to four weeks, followed by maturation in oak barrels for 18 months. These are the house’s general notes for this wine, rather than a separately published 2024 technical specification.
Vineyards and terroir: Vosne-Romanée lies in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. The importer describes east- to southeast-facing sites with stony brown chalk and clay soils, a setting associated with both aromatic delicacy and structure.
Family and history: Founded in Beaune in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Louis Jadot brings together estate vineyards and a long tradition of working with Burgundy’s growers. Frédéric Barnier leads the winemaking team, with an emphasis on the character of each individual terroir and a restrained use of oak.
