Close100% Cabernet Franc
Food pairings: Roast chicken with herbs, grilled pork tenderloin, mushroom pasta, duck breast and soft-ripened cheeses.
Winemaking: Fruit from Red Willow Vineyard, Outlook Vineyard and Union Gap Estate was harvested September 22–October 27. The wine cellared 16 months in French oak, 40% new.
Vineyards and terroir: Yakima Valley sites at higher elevation—Red Willow, Outlook and Union Gap Estate—where warm days and cool nights suit Cabernet Franc. The 2022 season brought a cold, snowy winter, a short intense summer and a long fall that allowed late October picking.
Family and history: Owen Roe is named for Irish patriot Owen Roe O'Neill; the Rosa Mystica label features a photograph by David K. Brunn of Drumlane Abbey in County Cavan, Ireland. The winery farms and sources across Washington's Yakima and Columbia valleys.
In the pictures: Existing eCom bottle and Rosa Mystica label detail (kept); Owen Roe Yakima Valley hillside vines (producer site); estate vineyard at sunset with the winery below (producer site).
