Bursting with aromas of violets, black plum, and subtle spice, this rich Cabernet layers luscious black cherry, cigar box, and baking spice flavors over silky tannins. Full-bodied, smooth, and beautifully balanced, it delivers a long, luxurious finish.

99% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Verdot

Dense, concentrated, yet undeniably classic in style, this vineyard designated Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from grapes grown in a favored two acre block at 850 feet of elevation on our property on the eastern slope of the Napa Valley between St. Helena and Rutherford.  (The block is one of several on the property where wine grapes have been growing continuously since the late 1870s.)

The 2022 is bold yet fruit-forward and approachable.  Winemaker Diana Snowden Seysses describes the wine as "full, rich, and an outstanding representation of its site"-- a site which in its last several vintages has twice produced wines named by The Wine Spectator to its world-wide list of the Top 100 wines of the year.

The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested on September 10, 2022, and blended with 1% Petit Verdot picked two days later.  Fermented by wild, native yeasts, the wine was aged for 18 months in French oak, 30% new, and bottled unfined on April 29, 2024.
