Close100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Food pairings: Grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, roast leg of lamb and aged hard cheeses.
Winemaking: Stormy Weather is the winery's flagship Cabernet, the only one of its wines aged in 100% new French oak; the 2019 spent 30 months in new French oak barrels before bottling. All of the winery's wines are bottled as 100% varietal wines.
Vineyards and terroir: Stormy Weather sources small lots of Cabernet Sauvignon from select Napa Valley vineyards, aiming for the ripe, concentrated fruit of rocky red slopes: blackberries, currants, minerals and cedar.
Family and history: Stormy Weather Wine was founded by Canadian-born winemaker Cameron Woodbridge, who worked harvests in the Napa Valley, Australia and Argentina. The first vintage, 2006, was made from seven tons of Calistoga Cabernet. The labels feature works by the Canadian artist David Blackwood, reflecting Woodbridge's ties to his homeland.
