Tenuta Sette Cieli sits high above the Tuscan coast between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, overlooking terraced vineyards (pictured above) and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The 173-acre estate is surrounded by the lush woodlands of Monteverdi Marittimo, with 17 acres devoted to high-density vineyards. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec thrive in this distinctive elevated setting. Organic practices and meticulous handwork in the vineyards reflect the estate’s deep respect for its natural surroundings. In the cellar, each variety is vinified separately with wild yeasts before careful blending following aging in French oak barrels.
Winemaker and CEO Elena Pozzolini (pictured above) brought an international perspective to Tenuta Sette Cieli when she joined the estate in 2013, following winemaking experience in Argentina, Australia and California. Today, she is involved in virtually every aspect of the winery, from winemaking and vineyard decisions to business management and export sales. Her travels taught her to approach wine with curiosity, open-mindedness and a willingness to experiment. At the heart of her philosophy is a fascination with how grapes, climate and terroir combine to create wines of remarkable complexity and individuality. Above all, she strives to respect and protect the environment, finding balance in the vineyard to produce exceptional fruit and wines with a true sense of place.
