A rare still Chardonnay from Champagne with the charm of white Burgundy: orchard fruit, white peach, lemon and citrus, delicate floral and herbal notes, and the fresh, chalky lift of a cool northern site. Crisp, elegant and a superb match for oysters.

100% Chardonnay

Food pairings: Oysters, grilled shrimp with garlic butter, lemon-butter scallops, grilled white fish and fresh goat cheese.

Winemaking: Coteaux Champenois is the appellation for Champagne's still wines, made without the second fermentation that creates bubbles. Vincent Joudart's Blanc is a still Blanc de Blancs, made entirely from Chardonnay, and only about 1,600 bottles were produced in 2022.

Vineyards and terroir: The family's vineyards lie on the sunny hillsides of Fèrebrianges, in the Petit Morin valley about 20 minutes from Épernay, where they grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Chardonnay brings delicate floral, citrus and sometimes mineral notes. The clay-limestone soils over a mostly chalky subsoil drain well and hold water in reserve for the vines, giving the freshness and finesse typical of Champagne.

Family and history: Champagne Vincent Joudart is a family récoltant-manipulant in Fèrebrianges, which grows its own grapes and makes all its wines at the property, farming with sustainable, terroir-respecting viticulture. It is a member of the Club Trésors de Champagne, the growers' association behind the Special Club cuvées.
