Food pairings: Tri-tip crostini, pork ribs with mashed potatoes, and pasta with Bolognese sauce.
Winemaking: The grapes were harvested early in the morning so they arrived at the winery cool, preserving vineyard-fresh flavors. After destemming, the fruit was cryo-extracted and cold-soaked to soften the skins for ideal extraction, then fermented in closed and open-top stainless steel fermenters with punch-downs and pump-overs at low temperatures to build mouthfeel. After malolactic fermentation the wine was aged 12 to 16 months in 50% new French oak and racked every six months before the final blend.
Vineyards and terroir: A non-vintage California blend drawn from Mendocino, Sonoma and Lodi, selecting from vines young and old across California's coastal growing regions. The name refers to the threads woven into a fabric: the blend balances the wine's phenolics against natural acidity for texture and harmony.
Family and history: Threadcount is an extension of Napa Valley Quilt, crafted by Joe Wagner, a fifth-generation Napa Valley winemaker who began in the wine business in 2001 at nineteen, founded the Belle Glos Pinot Noir label and created Quilt. Threadcount translates the Quilt style for more casual occasions; the red blend launched in March 2023.
